Overview
Forklift incidents are almost always a control failure rather than an accident — an unchecked truck, an overloaded fork, a blind corner taken at speed. This course trains and tests against those failures.
Delivered entirely in person on a training yard with practical testing. A refresher route is available for existing operators.
What you study
5 units · 80 notional hours. Hours shown are the notional allocation used for planning and progression.
Legal duties, authorisation, exclusion zones and the operator's right to refuse unsafe work.
Components, stability triangle, load charts, daily inspection and defect reporting.
Steering behaviour, gradients, pedestrian awareness, blind spots and confined spaces.
Approaching, lifting, travelling laden, racking, de-stacking and load security.
Practical operating test and theory paper.
How you are assessed
Practical competence is assessed in person by a qualified assessor against written criteria. No practical competence is assessed online.
A set course of manoeuvring, stacking and de-stacking under test conditions
A full daily check performed and defects correctly identified
Stability, load charts and site safety
